I was born in Bernice, LA (North Louisiana) and moved to Vicksburg, MS after graduating with an engineering degree in 1986. There I worked for 30 years in the Nuclear Power industry, retired and moved to Cleveland, TN in May 2016. I have been married to my lifelong sweetheart for 30 joyful years. We have two kids (Houston & Sarah); both are happily married - living in Nashville TN and Fort Smith AR. I spend much of my free time fishing, gardening and volunteering at First Baptist Church Cleveland TN.
I feel God is guiding me to support the Extended Family ministry at FBC because of the one-on-one interaction with first time believers. This has a direct connection to the “Great Commission”. I feel guided to help with the great potential this ministry has on Christ’s kingdom. My spiritual gifts are organization and administration. I find joy in having the responsibility to make connections with those wishing to know Christ and answers about being a Christian.

I'm very excited about this opportunity to serve God and the church. I am originally from Chattanooga but have lived many places including Memphis, TN, Franklin, TN, Baton Rouge, LA, Frisco, TX (DFW metro area), Gulf Shores, AL, and Spring Hill, TN....then to Cleveland....mostly in that order. I am a newly retired school psychologist but still work 1-2 days a week. My son and his wife live in the Chattanooga area and, after my husband passed away three years ago, it was time to move close to where he is making his home. I am blessed with wonderful friends and a wonderful family.
As I prepared for retirement, I prayed for God to shut the door to retirement if it was not meant to be. I really hadn't planned to retire for a couple of years but, through the process, He did not shut any door. So, then, I asked for doors to be open for service and FBC has so many opportunities. My spiritual gift is mercy with serving and giving coming in a close second tie. I am excited about Extended Family because it is such a large way to reach people for Christ. I am not one to get up in front of people but I am able to reach people one on one very well.
Again, I am very excited about this mission and using this gift of a little early retirement to be more actively involved with the church and its outreach.
